WinTool AG is a Swiss company headquartered in Zürich that was founded in 1980 (originally as “DATOS Computer AG”).
From the beginning, the company has focused on the metal‑cutting / machining industry and developed software solutions for managing tools, CNC data and production resources.
Its core offering — the system “WinTool” — provides a comprehensive tool & data management platform for CNC manufacturing: it offers a parametric tool & resource library (including 2D/3D‑representations of tools), CAM‑integration, inventory & stock management, process planning, NC‑program and file management, and seamless interfaces to ERP, MES, PDM, DNC, presetting devices and warehouse / storage systems.
The system is designed to support lean manufacturing and “Machining Data Management”: it allows companies to streamline and digitalize their tool handling, reduce setup times, better plan tool usage, avoid redundant tool inventories, and build a fully traceable, integrated data environment — from the master data of tools to the actual operation on the machine.
